Healthy Banana “Ice Cream” Sundae
If you love Ice Cream, but are looking for a healthier option, you’re going to LOVE this Banana “Ice Cream” Recipe.
I always have bananas in the house. When they start to turn, I throw them in the freezer. You can freeze them with the peel on, or you can peel and throw them in a freezer bag.
If you freeze them with the peel on, use a knife to remove the peel.
I used to add extra bananas to regular ice cream sundaes and I wouldn’t allow myself to eat them too frequently since ice cream is typically so high in fat and calories. Now, I make my sundae out of bananas and splurge on the toppings, when I need a treat.
Place 1 – 2 frozen bananas in a blender or food processor with about 1 cup of milk. I like to use almond milk, but you can use any milk. Blend until smooth and creamy. You can add juice, syrup, fruit, flax, or any other items to flavor your treat.
Scoop your treat into a bowl and add your favorite toppings. You can make your treat super-healthy by adding fruit or a little more fun by adding nuts, candy, or syrup. Enjoy!
